Compared to the Live8 broadcast that AOL did, the LiveEarth broadcast is a disappointment. The resolution of the video is significantly poorer and yet I'm finding that the stream is having a lot of problems handling the load. There are a lot of blackouts, frequent rebuffering of content and there have already been complaints that the site only works in Internet Explorer.
This could have been a fantastic showcase for Silverlight - with the quick download of the plugin Microsoft could have showcased its new technology including some fantastic video streaming.
But instead we see choppy video, disconnected audio and very slow response rate on the interface.
What a missed opportunity!
